Chemical peeling is a procedure in which one or more chemical agents are applied to the skin to create controlled damage at various depths, with the aim of revealing healthy skin. Chemical peeling is a superficial procedure that creates damage down to the desired depth in the skin layers. The aim of chemical peeling is to treat various lesions by taking advantage of wound healing during the regeneration that follows this damage. It cannot make pigmentation disappear completely, but it lightens the colour of pigmented patches, makes the skin look brighter and healthier and, most importantly, prepares the skin for later pigmentation treatments. Chemical peeling is not performed in summer, only in winter, and sunscreen must be used after the procedure.

Chemical Peeling Session Duration and Number of Sessions
A session lasts on average 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated.

The number of sessions varies according to the person, the case and the type of application, but on average:
* Superficial peels: 4–8 sessions at 2–4 week intervals,
* Medium-depth peels: 2–4 sessions at 2–4 month intervals,
* Deep peels: a single session is usually sufficient.
