The Dermaroller is a treatment device with microneedles arranged on a roller. The Dermaroller consists of 192 extremely fine, specially prepared steel needles arranged on a cylindrical drum. Microchannels are opened by moving this roller over the skin.

Using the Dermaroller in combination with products containing growth factors, biomimetic peptides and stem cell extracts for various purposes, to increase their penetration into the skin, is called "dermatherapy". Many problems – above all ageing and acne scars, but also stretch marks, under-eye bags and dark circles, skin pigmentation and severe hair loss – can be addressed with dermatherapy.

Areas of use

* Treatment of melasma and other hyperpigmented skin patches
* Acne treatment
* Reduction of superficial wrinkles
* Tightening of pores
* Treatment of stretch marks
* Hair loss
* Treatment of wound and burn scars

How does the Dermaroller work?

In Dermaroller treatment, the microneedles create microchannels in the skin without causing any peeling or tearing. These microchannels increase the absorption of products applied to the skin, increasing the effectiveness of treatment. In addition, the formation of microchannels is perceived as a kind of wound. Through the tissue factors released, microcirculation and the synthesis of the collagen and elastin fibres that make up connective tissue increase, creating firmer, fresher skin and reducing scars.

How many sessions does Dermaroller treatment require?
Depending on the size of the needles used, an average of 4-6 sessions at intervals of 2-4 weeks gives satisfactory results.

How is it carried out?
After the treatment area has been cleaned with an antiseptic, the Dermaroller is applied to the skin with light pressure (250 g) in a star pattern, on average 10-15 times. This creates an average of 250-400 microchannels per square centimetre of skin. Needles of 1.5 mm and 2 mm are preferred for acne and burn scars and for stretch mark treatment, and 0.5 mm needles for fine wrinkles and pigmentation treatment.

After the procedure, various therapeutic serums can be applied according to the indication: hyaluronic acid for scar treatment, and lightening serums (arbutin, kojic acid) for pigmentation treatment. Because the microchannels close within 15 minutes, the product must be applied within the first 15 minutes. After treatment there is mild redness lasting 1-2 days at most. Because the microchannels close very quickly, there is no risk of infection after the procedure.

Side Effects

This treatment, suitable for all skin types, is usually followed by redness that settles within a few hours. Its most important advantage is that it does not cause sun sensitivity, so it can also be carried out in the summer months.
